QUETZALCOALT / HAMMOCK / KVADRAT / 2012

This project has been designed in commission for Kvadrat and is part of the Kvadrat Hallingdal 65 exhibition during Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2012

It offers an experimentation around the sculptural features of hammocks, inasmuch as they are suspended objects. In order to accomplish this, the fabric of which it is made is not treated as a two-dimensional surface, but as a three dimensional volume. A thousand fabric tubes are combined in order to give it its final shape. A traditional hammock is thus transformed into a thick pelt which is both welcoming and protective.
